The A12 is set to undergo a series of closures in the coming weeks, primarily due to infrastructure work for the Sizewell C nuclear power station. These closures will impact both the A12 and nearby roads, causing disruptions for commuters and travelers. Here's a breakdown of the closures and their implications:
A12 South of Friday Street (January 9-12):

This closure is essential for constructing a new roundabout at the A12 and Friday Street intersection, where the village bypass is being built. During this time, drivers will be directed to use the A12, A146, A143, A140, and A14 as diversions.
A12 Yoxford (January 12-15):
- The A12 will be closed at Yoxford, south of the B1122, overnight from Monday to Thursday. This closure is for the installation of a new pedestrian crossing. Diversions will be via the B1122, B1069, A1094, and A12.
A12 Darsham (January 19-23):
- The A12 will be closed at Darsham overnight for resurfacing works on the park and ride roundabout. The diversion route will be the same as the previous closures: A12, A146, A143, A140, and A14.
A12 North of Friday Street (January 26 - February 13):
- The A12 will be closed at night on weekdays for three weeks. This closure is for utility diversion works, and the diversion will use the A12, B1116, A1120, and A12 itself.
Additionally, Hill Farm Road will be fully closed from January 12 for works associated with the village bypass. Drivers are advised to use the diversion route: A12, Tinkerbrook Lane, Station Road, and Langham Road.
